18th Annual MBA Christmas Tuba Festival

Manitoba Centennial Concert Hall

MBA's Christmas Tuba Festival (established 2002) provides an opportunity for tuba and euphonium players from across Manitoba to gather in December to perform a concert of Christmas carols on the Piano Nobile level of the Manitoba Centennial Concert Hall for Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra patrons.  Rob Monson is the current chair of this MBA event.

When:      Sunday, December 15, 2019      Rehearsal - 11:45 am   &   Performance - 1:00 pm

Guest Conductor:  Alexis Silver

Where:     Manitoba Centennial Concert Hall (555 Main Street, Winnipeg)

Who:        Euphonium, Tuba, and Sousaphone players of all ages.  

                  It is very strongly recommended that students have at least one full year of experience.

                  A few new files will also be available for our youngest players.

 

Prize:       Annual Best Decorated Instrument/Performer will be awarded following the performance.

                 Prize donated by Long & McQuade Instruments in Winnipeg.

Fee:          $10  (must accompany registration form).

Bring:      Your instrument and music.  

Music:      Music is available online for free.  A link will be provided by email upon receipt of registration. 

                 
WSO:        Special!   WSO has a special for that Dec 15 concert and a voucher for a future WSO concert.

 

 
Note:        Parents/friends may attend the Tuba Festival if they hold a ticket to the afternoon WSO concert.

  Registration will begin in July and all correspondence will be sent via email.

  Media Release Statement - Photographs/Videos & recordings of band members may be taken by the WSO, MBA,

  or the media during the event. Participation in this event is your permission for these items to be used at the

  concert, in promotional material, on-line and in the media.
