Laura Zinn

Laura Zinn has been teaching Grades 6, 7, and 8 Band and Jazz Band at École John Henderson Middle School for the past 13 years and is in her 20th year of teaching. She graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2007 with a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education, receiving the gold medal from the Faculty of Music. In 2019, the John Henderson band program was awarded the George Douglas Award from the Manitoba Band Association at the Optimist Band Festival (now Concert Band Festival), which recognizes exemplary performance, mature on and off-stage performance, responsiveness to the clinic, commitment to the festival through longevity of participation, and the development of an outstanding band program. Laura played clarinet in the Winnipeg Wind Ensemble for more than 10 years and has her ARCT in piano performance.
