
2026 Community Band Festival
Community bands have been a part of Manitoba's heritage for more than a century. The MBA sponsors an annual event in June.
FESTIVAL SCHEDULE
There are bands on the hour beginning at 1:00pm both days.
Saturday, June 6
1:00pm - Friday Morning Concert Band
2:00pm - Westwood Community Band
3:00pm - Winnipeg Video Game Orchestra
4:00pm - The Winnipeg Pops Orchestra
Food truck onsite: Firebird Grilled Chicken & Smokies
Sunday, June 7
1:00pm - The German Club Band
2:00pm - Northwinds Community Band
3:00pm - Executive Big Band
4:00pm - Assiniboia Concert Band
5:00pm - The Big Band Project
Hot dog cart onsite: Best by Roza's Hot Dogs

FESTIVAL LOCATION & SITE AMENITIES
Location
The festival takes place in the heart of beautiful Norwood Grove in Coronation Park, located in north St Boniface on the east side of St Mary’s Road, between Tache Ave. and Eugenie St. There are two stages - the large patio in front of the War Memorial for concert bands, and the bandstand for jazz bands.

What to Bring
Bring a chair or blanket to sit on, water, sun protection, and to dress for the weather as this is an outdoor event!
Amenities
A welcome tent will have information about the festival, and about the participating Community Bands
Food & Drink:
Firebird Grilled Chicken & Smokies will be onsite Saturday, June 6th.
Best by Roza's Hot Dogs will be onsite Sunday, June 7th.
Or bring your own - it's a public park!
Portable toilets (accessible) are available onsite
Admission
There is no cost to attend, though donations to support MBA programs and band activity in Manitoba are gratefully accepted at the welcome tent (cash, card, & cheque accepted or donate online)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We still need some more volunteers to help out next weekend at the Community Band Festival. If you are able to spare some time, various roles and shifts are available. You will have fun under the sun while being surrounded by community bands who love sharing music and brightening everyone's day by helping things to run smoothly!
