HOLIDAY TUBA FESTIVAL

​​​​​MBA's Holiday Tuba Festival (established 2002) provides an opportunity for tuba and euphonium players from across Manitoba to gather in December to perform a concert of carols on the Piano Nobile level of the Manitoba Centennial Concert Hall for Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) patrons.
2025 Schedule:

11:15 - 11:45am - Registration & Warm-up in the Sound Bytes room on the lower level concourse

11:45 - 12:45pm - Rehearsal on Piano Nobile

12:45 - 1:00pm - Break
-
1:05 - 1:45pm - Performance

1:45 - 2:00pm - Performers & guests depart or stay for 2:00pm WSO Concert (ticket required)

Promo codes for discounted tickets will be sent to participants by e-mail upon registration.
Please note: registration for Holiday Tuba Festival does NOT include tickets to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra concert. A promo code for WSO ticket purchase will be provided when you register for the Holiday Tuba Festival. Tickets to the WSO concert are not required to participate in the Holiday Tuba Festival, and any guests coming to watch the Holiday Tuba Festival performance must arrive and depart with you. Re-entry to Centennial Concert Hall will not be permitted without a WSO concert ticket. We encourage you to support your local orchestra and consider purchasing tickets to enjoy WSO's How to Train Your Dragon concert that afternoon.

Media Release Statement - Photographs/Videos & recordings of band members may be taken by the WSO, MBA,
or the media during the event. Participation in this event is your permission for these items to be used at the
concert, in promotional material, on-line and in the media.

Euphoniums play part 1 or 2 (your choice). Euphonium parts are written in bass clef and treble clef.

RECORDINGS:

In the fall of 2018 Jay Uschold, & Rob Monson (Tuba) and Kevin James & Vanessa Nowostawski (Euphonium) recorded the selections at Glenlawn Collegiate with Adam Mlodzinski. Players can now learn and hear their parts for the music by listening to the selections on this page, and even play along with these wonderful musicians.
